Allain Duhangan
Commercial operation of 192 MW run-of-the-river Allain Duhangan hydroelectric power plant began in April 2010. The project is located in the steep terrain of the Himalayas in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. The build-own-operate project is owned by AD Hydro Power Limited (ADHPL).
ADHPL harnesses the potential of 850 meters head by diverting the water of Allain Stream and Duhangan stream. The project comprises of two intakes, two water conveyance tunnel and a long pressure shaft of 1587 meters and an underground powerhouse. ADHPL project also owns a 170 km long double circuit transmission line.
The power plant reduces greenhouse-gas emissions by 400,000t per annum.
AD Hydro Power Limited has secured ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 certifications. These certifications reiterate ADHPL’s efforts towards the quality of generation and supply of dependable power to its customer, preventing pollution, ensuring safety at the workplace, and taking a keen concern in the health of the employees.
In the year 2013, this project was conferred with Runners- up an award for Best Hydro Power project by Power Line Awards 2013. The award was presented by Mr. Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, then Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power.
